July 4th

Eating frozen yogurt at Tutti Frutti

This year for July 4th, we decided to go to Roanoke's celebration, which is actually on July 3rd.  After dinner, we took the kids to Tutti Frutti for yogurt and then headed over to Roanoke to find a spot to watch the fireworks.  Avery was the only one who had actually stayed up before to see an entire fireworks show on July 4th, so the kids were all really excited.  We took Scott's truck so we could all sit in the truck bed to watch, and we even found a pretty good spot.  I don't think we would've wanted to be any closer because Judson was already scared enough of the loud noise as it was.  He stayed in the back seat of the truck for most of the show, peeking his little head out from between the headrests to see.  I guess he just felt a little safer there :)  He did end up coming out and sitting with Scott towards the end, and afterwards he went on and on about the "fiwerworks", so it must not have scared him that badly.  The girls were really impressed with the show too and kept talking about how close the fireworks seemed and all the different colors and types.  It was a fun family night and a great way to celebrate America's Independence!
