February Fun

So this morning before school Avery headed out to the car before me while I grabbed a jacket and I came out to see this! No, no dear daughter - thank goodness we still have 3-4 years before that starts!

This little guy has always liked football, but this season he has really gotten into it- asking lots of questions to learn the rules, watching entire games from start to finish, and playing lots of catch. Today he’s taken it to a new level and is drawing up plays ðŸ˜³ðŸ˜‚. I think we can say he’s officially caught the bug and loves the game just like his Daddy!

Having dinner with Memaw at Spring Creek for Granger Spirit Night.  This is always a fun event since the kids get to see friends and their teachers take turns serving rolls .

Too cool for school

Wearing Daddy's tie for a dress up day at school

When Granger has a Marcos Pizza Night, a different grade level gets to decorate plain pizza boxes each time and then if they order a pizza, they get it delivered in the box they decorated.  This was Judson's special box.

Valentines Day

So thankful this Valentine’s Day that God showed us what true love is by loving us first, and so thankful to have a sweet family to share my love with and who loves me in return! It was a fun day of seeing the kids celebrate with class parties and a school dance for Avery, and receiving pretty roses and yummy chocolates from my original Valentine.

Pajama Party!- 1st grade musical

We had fun watching Judson and all the Granger 1st graders in their music program, “Pajama Party!” He was super excited about his speaking part and did a great job with both that and singing and dancing to all the songs!

Kendall's 10th birthday party

Kendall got to celebrate her 10th birthday this year by having a slumber party with 5 of her friends. They had pizza and Shirley Temples, played games, did a craft, ate Oreo ice cream pie and watched Kendall’s favorite movie, “Beauty and the Beast” (the new version with Emma Watson).  The girls had a ton of energy and stayed up too late, but I think they all had a great time and it was a fun way to celebrate double digits for our Kendall!

Kendall turns 10!

Kendall is 10 today- double digits! She brings us much pride and joy, and we love seeing the ways God works in her and through as she grows. One Saturday back in the fall she wanted to “go somewhere” on her bike, but since I don’t have a bike I agreed to let her lead the way and walk behind her. As she rode ahead of me, I found myself enjoying watching this little girl that used to be attached to my hip choose her way and revel in her freedom and independence. On our way back home, she decided to stop and play at the neighborhood playground for a bit. And as I watched her run and play and laugh It felt like I was watching the clock of her childhood begin to tick down. It was bittersweet, being proud of the way she has grown and all the independence and confidence she seems to have gained over the past year, but at the same time wanting to see her laugh and play and be carefree forever. I knew it was one of those moments that, as a mother, I would treasure in my heart forever. So it seems very fitting that for her birthday she wanted a new bike- a perfect gift for helping her enjoy both her new-found independence and the remaining carefree, fun moments of childhood. We also celebrated her as a family on Sunday after church with a special lunch at Olive Garden and she also shared a purple and turquoise-decorated cookie cake with her class at school.  Happy birthday and we love you Kendall!
