Mission Trip to Peru

Scott, one of his assistants Iris, and her husband Arturo went to Curahuasi, Peru for a week to train the dentists at Diospi Suyana Dental Clinic in dental implant placement and oral surgery. Besides teaching, they got to visit a little zoo in Abancay and experienced some amazing mountaintop views of the city below. They also traveled with local missionaries to the community of Luychupata to provide dental care. While there, they were served meals by the villagers and helped spread the gospel as evidenced by the fact that a church service was held after they left. Then they had the amazing opportunity to visit Machu Pichu. They had to take a train, a taxi and a bus to get there, but Scott said it was by far the most amazing place he has ever been.

Father's Day

As the card I gave him for Father’s Day said, my heart is truly home with this man. There is absolutely no one I’d rather be partners with in marriage, in parenting, or in my walk with the Lord. He is so good at parenting intentionally with the end goal in mind. He helps me to be a better parent and I am truly my best self when he is around. He is such a blessing to me, to our children, and to all whose lives he touches! We celebrated today by enjoying lunch with family and then Scott used his new bike that we gave him to go on a bike ride with Kendall.

Also, Happy Father’s Day to the man who has loved me from the beginning. He is one of the best I know at showing love for his family through giving of his time and energy and being willing to help with whatever we need. He is also such a fun and sweet grandpa (Poppi). So glad I got to spend part of the day with him and give him a big hug!

Girls' Night!

At least once a year, the girls and I try to have a special night to ourselves to do girly things and spend quality time together.  This year, we had dinner at Olive Garden, shopped at Barnes and Noble, made slime, and did each other's makeup.  It was a fun night and I really cherish these special times we have together.

Crayola Experience

In June the kids and I also went with Mom and Dad over to the new Crayola Experience in Plano.  The kids got to do lots of little art projects and experiments with color, and even got to make and name their own crayons to take home.  It was definitely a fun and different way to spend a summer afternoon.

Summer Fun!

In June we stayed busy with some usual summer activities- baking and sidewalk chalk art for Kendall, making the most out of running errands, Nike volleyball camp for Avery (with Ella McKnight from church), and of course, lots of swimming!

Friends Photo Shoot

Avery had a belated little birthday party this month with 2 of her good friends since we took a trip to Oklahoma on her birthday in March.  We had dinner at Lolo's Chicken and Waffles in Southlake and then I took the girls to shop at Southlake Town Center and for ice cream at Andy's.  We also did a little photoshoot in the greenbelt and down by the school, the pictures turned out so cute.

US Gold Gymnastics Showcase

Kendall got to show off her gymnastics skills at the annual US Gold Gymnastics showcase. This year on the floor, she did a round-off back handspring with a spot, and a back walkover, front walkover, and front handspring all by herself. On the vault she did a front handspring and round-off, on the beam she did a handstand and a back walkover with a spot, and on bars she did a back hip circle and a straddle circle. She did a great job on all her routines, and we are proud of her hard work and the progress she’s made!
