Bedichek Anniversary Lake Trip

Doug, Scott and Jan wearing their matching shirts. Doug and Sheila ordered t-shirts that said "It's a Bedichek Thing" for everyone to wear on our weekend together at the lake.  They didn't have this shirt in Judson's size, so they got him one that says "Future Bedichek Player."

 This summer, Tom and Jan will be celebrating 50 years of marriage, so in honor of them, the whole Bedichek family spent a weekend together out at Cedar Creek Lake in Gun Barrel City, TX.  We stayed at an amazing house right on the lake with a great back porch, yard, and a deck complete with a water slide and zip line.  After we arrived on Friday and had some dinner, we all got dressed up and went out to the side of the house for family pictures.  I haven't seen the pictures yet, but the evening light was really pretty in between the trees and Sheila had a really cool blue sofa for a prop that went well with our blue/gray color scheme.  Looking forward to seeing those :) Doug brought out his father-in-law's boat, so we were able to have a great time out on the lake tubing and skiing.  Unfortunately the boat fun was cut a little short after Doug accidentally hit a sand bar, but there was still plenty to do.  We had a good time swimming, relaxing in rafts, kayaking, and for those who were brave enough, sliding down the water slide and doing the zip line.  Apparently while I was bathing the kids, Scott and Mike cranked up the testosterone a notch and started jumping off the top deck and all sorts of crazy things that they should probably not have been doing.  Glad they had some male bonding time though and glad no one got hurt.  Avery and Kendall had a great time swimming and tubing all day, but Judson was a little bit afraid of the lake and spent most of his time playing in the sand and with balls and bubbles in the yard.  The girls loved hanging out with their "big girl" cousins Bailey, Braden and Broolyn as well as their cute, sweet younger cousins Mason and Eva. It was a fun, relaxing time for everyone and a great way to celebrate Tom and Jan!
