On the Thursday before Christmas break, both of the girls had Christmas parties at school. Luckily, Kendall's was in the morning and Avery's was in the afternoon, so I was able to help out with both. At Kendall's party they had pizza, fruit, veggies and cupcakes. They did several crafts including making ornaments, making cards for the troops, and making reindeer food. I read a story to the class and then they also played pin the tail on Rudolph. Avery's party was at the end of the day, so they just had popcorn, juice boxes, and cupcakes that they decorated to look like a snowman face. Her class also made cards for the troops, made reindeer food, and played Christmas Bingo complete with holiday M& M's for game board markers and prizes. It was a lot of fun and I was so glad I got to be a part of it all!

As part of our Christmas activities this year we decided to ride the North Pole Express train in Grapevine. We took the girls a few years ago, but Judson had never been and we knew he especially would enjoy it since he likes trains. We originally had tickets for early in December, but it got cancelled due to the ice storm. So we ended up riding it on the Monday afternoon before Christmas. I think it was a little less magical for the kids since it was in the afternoon rather than at night, but it was still a lot of fun. All three kids liked watching the girls dressed up as elves and singing Christmas carols on the train. Probably one of their favorite parts was walking through the tree maze from the train to the performance tent because they had snow machines going. And then after the performance with an appearance by Santa, they handed out "Frosty Chocolate Snow Milk" in keepsake mugs to all the kids. It was the perfect thing to gear them all up for Santa coming on Christmas Eve!
