For the 3rd year in a row, we traveled to Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras to spend our Spring Break working with Mission Upreach. Once we arrived, our trip kicked off with the usual tour of the Mission Upreach facilities, but this year we ended at the Moses Project, touring the facilities and enjoying a delicious lunch with the boys who live there and participate in the program. Later in the day, we worshipped with our brothers and sisters at Bario Belen and enjoyed catching up with them and some of the Mission Upreach staff.

We spent the day Monday loading up supplies for the medical brigade and taking them out the village where we will be working this week- Quebrada Seca. After unloading and setting everything up, we all chipped in to sort and fill bags of advil and vitamins to be handed out during the brigade. The Stacy's invited our kids over to hang out for the day while we set up for clinic, so that was a real treat for them. They also snuck in a quick, chilly swim in the rooftop pool at the hotel.

Since we had a smaller group this year, we needed all hands on deck helping with the medical brigade. Avery and I helped direct traffic and escort people from intake and the doctors clinic to the ear cleaning station, eye clinic, dental clinic, and pharmacy. Kendall helped with the ear cleaning station by putting drops of olive oil in people's ears to soften up the wax before cleaning them out. Judson hung out in the eye clinic with the college girls and played with Tobin and Owen. On day one, we saw a total of 327 patients, with Scott seeing 37 of those and pulling 52 teeth.
Day 2 began with the kids and I surprising Scott with cards and a poster for his 40th birthday! On the poster, the kids helped me list 40 things that we love about Scott. When we arrived at Quebrada Seca, we all quickly got back to doing our jobs and we ended up seeing a total of 359 patients. Scott saw 32 patients in the dental clinic and pulled 45 teeth. After a road delay due to rain on the way back, we finally arrived at the hotel in time for dinner and to enjoy some birthday cake for Scott and 2 others from our group that have birthdays this week.
