Scott's 20 yr reunion

At the end of September Scott and I made the trip to Tulsa for his 20 yr high school reunion. We arrived late on Friday night but not too late to spend a little time with Scott's best friend from high school, Kris, and his wife Courtney since they were staying at the same hotel as us. Saturday morning we met up with a group at Jenks High school for a tour of the school. Scott saw lots of people he hadn't seen in many years, and we had fun seeing all the parts of campus, both old and new. They had recently built a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly math and science building that seemed more like something you would see at a university, a new aquatics center with an olympic size pool that even families can use, and an awesome athletic center that rivals what many small universities have. As we were looking around in the new athletic facility, Scott and Kris heard some coaches having a meeting and one of them was the head coach, Alan Trimble, who was there as the offensive coordinator when they were at Jenks. He gave us a personal tour of the facility and spent some time catching up with Scott and Kris. Afterward, we met everyone from the tour for lunch at Mazzio's and then spent some time driving around seeing Scott's old houses, etc. That evening we attended the reunion dinner, which was held at an event center close to our hotel. We enjoyed yummy tacos from a food truck and meeting/catching up with old friends and classmates. Sunday morning we attended worship at Park Plaza and visited for a few minutes with Scott's old youth minister, Mitch Wilburn, who is now the pulpit minister. We capped off our trip with a stop at Taco Tico in Shawnee for some yummy enchiladas on our way back home.
