Kendall in the Spelling Bee and Ultimate Book Challenge

Kendall participated in two special competitions at school this month- the spelling bee and Ultimate Book Challenge (formerly Battle of the Books). In the school-wide spelling bee, she made it to the 4th round where there were only 14 kids left out of a whole stage full. She misspelled piteously, which even I had to look up the correct spelling of!  She also participated for the second year in a row in the Ultimate Book Challenge.  She was so excited that her team tied for 3rd place! I love how this competition encourages the kids to read and that they are exposed to so many different types of books. It truly helped instill a love of reading in both of my girls.
