October

Avery with her Kid with Character award for the responsibility
October was the end of the first six weeks of school for the girls and so they had Wrangler Round-Up awards as usual.  1st graders don't get grades for the first six weeks, but Kendall received awards for good citizenship, perfect attendance, and bell-to-bell.  Avery received awards for all A Honor Roll, good citizenship, perfect attendance, bell-to-bell and she also received the Kid with Character Award for the trait of responsibility.  She received this same award in first grade but was not eligible to receive it in second grade (they can't get it 2 years in a row).  She was very surprised and excited.  The weather was nice in October, which allowed Judson and I to make a trip to the zoo.  We were able to see his favorite animal, the lions, several times and even heard and saw them roar.  Pretty amazing!  The kids played outside with neighbors a lot and took full advantage of the weather and the neighborhood we live in with so many kids.  Judson also had Western Day at school and got to see and pet the animals at the petting zoo they had.  More fun to come later in the month with ACU Homecoming and Halloween!
They have 2 male lions at the Ft Worth Zoo.  We had to visit them multiple times while we were there.
Enjoying our picnic lunch at the zoo.
Playing outside with a bunch of the neighbor kids- Lexi and Bryson, Rylin and Mylah, and Seth
They were all so cute riding down the street on their big wheels and scooters (and Lexi on her roller blades)
One of Judson's teachers sent me this picture of him at the petting zoo.  It was a nice little surprise during my day!
Uncle Tony sent us a great picture of him with some of the kids we sponsor at Change-a-Life Academy in Kenya.  I love seeing each of their precious faces and receiving their sweet letters every so often.  I feel like I can Jesus shining through each little pair of eyes and each little smile.
