Every year at Granger the second graders put on a little event called "Poetry Cafe" to conclude their unit on poetry. They all pick a poem, memorize it, make or bring props and perform it for everyone who comes around to their spot. Kendall's chose a cute little poem called, "Im shopping for a Dinosaur," and she had a backpack with a unicorn sticking out of it (see poem for the reason why) and some dinosaurs as props on her desk. oh, and she wore her hair in pigtails to enhance the "little kid" look." She did such a great job and was absolutely adorable performing it!
Second graders also have to make a musical instrument for music class using materials from around the house. She chose to make a guitar and of course, wanted to paint it purple.
