One weekend in April Avery went with several friends from school on a retreat to Pine Cove for 2nd through 5th graders with The Hills Church.  Children's ministry volunteers from the church acted as counselors and ran most of the retreat, but several people on staff with Pine Cove were also there to help out.  The kids get to do some traditional camp things like horseback ride, have worship, sing silly songs, and have Bible lessons, but then since its mostly run by the church, they get to do crazy, fun stuff like eat tons of candy, play pranks on other cabins, and play a game in the dark called Pitch Black Attack. Needless to say, Avery had a blast and is already asking if she can go again next year.

Avery also got invited one Saturday to go to the new Main Event near us with Katie and Maelyn.  When they first showed up it wasnt open yet, so they went to Costco and got a snack.
