Avery goes to Camp Blue Haven

In mid-July, we sent Avery off to Camp Blue Haven with other kids and teens from Southside.  She was nervous to go since she got so homesick at Camp Deer Run earlier this summer, but she was a little comforted by having Rylee in her cabin and other friends from church there as well.  She did get pretty homesick, but she also really liked many things about camp and talked about it nonstop when she got home.  She seemed to really like the singing, early Christian worship, the skits, and the fact that her cabin got Master Campers.  I'm pretty certain that she will be ready to go back next year when camp time rolls around!
