Meeting Kay Granger and Meet the Teacher

This month we finally had the opportunity to go and meet Congresswoman Kay Granger as a result of Avery's winning the 5th grade essay contest, " What's Right About America."  Congresswoman Granger presented Avery with the flag that was flown in her honor over the US Capitol and a certificate telling about the flag.  It was a quick visit, but a special one and we felt honored to have the opportunity.

Here are Kendall and Jud at Meet the Teacher night at Granger.  They are excited about their teachers, Mrs. Conti and Mrs. Neal/Mrs. Word, and are ready to start 4th and 1st grades!

Before school started, I took the girls and Avery's friend Rienn to the nail salon for manicures.  It was a fun girls'outing and a good way to celebrate Avery starting middle school.
