The Annual AAP Meeting was in Boston this year in September, so we were able to combine business with personal and celebrate my 40th birthday while there. On of the first day, we visited the skywalk observatory where we saw amazing 360 views of the city and a learned a lot of history about Boston and then had lunch at Max Brennar- Chocolate and the Bald Man, which had all kinds of chocolate infused foods. We had some delicious waffle sandwiches, fries dusted with cocoa, a chocolate martini and a shake for dessert. After lunch we walked through Boston Commons on our way to meet up with the Hagers and some of their staff for a guided tour of the Freedom Trail. IN the park we saw the famous swan boats and Scott even got a snack at the Cookie Monstah food truck. On the freedom trail, we saw many of the historic sights on the tour and the guide gave us a lot of inside information. Some of the things we saw included the Massachusetts State House, Fanueil Hall, the Old South Meeting House, the Granary Burying ground with the grave of John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and others, and the old cobblestone streets lined with apartments and shops.
That night we enjoyed a delicious Sicilian seafood dinner on the harbor.
On our second day, we toured Paul Revere's house and the Old North Church, and then had lunch in Little Italy at a little place called Panza. We had the most delicious Bruchetta and shared some butternut squash ravioli. Then we went to Mike's pastry and got several cannoli and other treats. We walked to while the Rose Kenndey Garden and sat and ate our treats while enjoying the fountains and flowers in the park. Then we went to Faneuil Hall (aka "The Cradle of Liberty") and Quincy Market to shop. After that, we rode the ferry across the harbor to see the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill. Then we topped it all off with an amazing seafood birthday dinner at Legal Sea Foods on the Harbor this evening.
It was a great 40th birthday trip filled with delicious food, sightseeing, and lots of quality time with my love. I couldn't have asked for anything more!
