At Avery's end-of-year awards ceremony, she received medals for All A Honor Roll and Outstanding Student in English Language Arts. Of course I’m proud that she received awards, but I am more proud of the life skills she learned and exhibited in order to earn the awards: hard work, responsibility, time management skills, communicating with teachers, showing initiative, and dealing with many different teacher personalities and teaching styles. It has been a year of change and growth for her, and for the most part she has handled it beautifully!
Yesterday was Kendall and Judson’s turn for end-of-year awards. They both received all A Honor Roll, good citizenship, and the “Hats Off” award for hard work and dedication. Judson also got an award for perfect attendance and Kendall received her medal for 3rd place in UIL Ready Writing as well as special recognition for being in the school spelling bee and student council. They both had a great year and learned so much!
On the last day of school, I treated the kids to ice cream at Muggle Shakes and then we met up with friends at the pool to usher in the summer. 2nd, 5th, and 7th grades, here they come!
