Kendall turns 9!

Our sweet Kendall is 9!  She brings us so much joy and is such a blessing from God.  We started off her birthday celebrations a day early with cookie cake for her class and then a steak dinner at Saltgrass (her new favorite) with Mimi and Poppi.

On her birthday, she celebrated with sweet friends at our house with a pizza and pajamas party.  First, the girls made duct tape bookmarks and zipper pouches out of candy bags.  After crafts, they had pizza and punch in their colorful party favor bottles, and then Kendall opened presents.  Next was oreo ice cream pie for the birthday dessert.  We wrapped up the night by watching a movie, which turned into an impromptu dance party.  It was a fun celebration of Kendall!

An evening at the theater

For Christmas last year we had given my parents a gift certificate to Bass Hall so that we could take them to dinner and to the theater one evening.  It took us awhile to get around to doing it, but we finally went one weekend and had a fabulous time.  We went to dinner at Cantina Laredo in Sundance Square and then saw "An American In Paris" at Bass Hall.  The food was yummy, the company was wonderful and the play had pretty singing and dancing.  It was a special night out for just the four of us!

Noah update

Noah continues to grow bigger by the day and become more and more attached to his family (and us to him!)  He still hasn't quite gotten the hang of house training, but he is improving and is a super cute and super sweet dog.  He loves to play with his toys, loves his kids, and loves to follow me around and be in whatever room I'm in.

Kendall's museum field trip

This year I was able to go on Kendall's 3rd grade field trip to the Ft Worth Museum of Science and Natural History.  The kids all had a great time exploring and playing at the museum,  and I enjoyed spending some quality one-on-one time with my middle girl.

100th day of school and Kendall's UIL award

In February the kindergarteners had a special celebration of the 100th day of school.  Each child got to help make and wear a special shirt, hat, etc with 100 things on it and then parade through the school with their classmates.  We made Judson a shirt with a monster on it that had 100 googly eyes.  It was cute and fun to make and wear!

This month at Wrangler Round-Up Kendall received special recognition and a medal for winning 1st place in the district in UIL Ready Writing.  She was so proud of herself, and we were thrilled that she won!
