Bedichek Anniversary Lake Trip

 Our home for the weekend!
The anniversary couple enjoying the porch
Doug, Scott and Jan wearing their matching shirts. Doug and Sheila ordered t-shirts that said "It's a Bedichek Thing" for everyone to wear on our weekend together at the lake.  They didn't have this shirt in Judson's size, so they got him one that says "Future Bedichek Player."
This summer, Tom and Jan will be celebrating 50 years of marriage, so in honor of them, the whole Bedichek family spent a weekend together out at Cedar Creek Lake in Gun Barrel City, TX.  We stayed at an amazing house right on the lake with a great back porch, yard, and a deck complete with a water slide and zip line.  After we arrived on Friday and had some dinner, we all got dressed up and went out to the side of the house for family pictures.  I haven't seen the pictures yet, but the evening light was really pretty in between the trees and Sheila had a really cool blue sofa for a prop that went well with our blue/gray color scheme.  Looking forward to seeing those :) Doug brought out his father-in-law's boat, so we were able to have a great time out on the lake tubing and skiing.  Unfortunately the boat fun was cut a little short after Doug accidentally hit a sand bar, but there was still plenty to do.  We had a good time swimming, relaxing in rafts, kayaking, and for those who were brave enough, sliding down the water slide and doing the zip line.  Apparently while I was bathing the kids, Scott and Mike cranked up the testosterone a notch and started jumping off the top deck and all sorts of crazy things that they should probably not have been doing.  Glad they had some male bonding time though and glad no one got hurt.  Avery and Kendall had a great time swimming and tubing all day, but Judson was a little bit afraid of the lake and spent most of his time playing in the sand and with balls and bubbles in the yard.  The girls loved hanging out with their "big girl" cousins Bailey, Braden and Broolyn as well as their cute, sweet younger cousins Mason and Eva. It was a fun, relaxing time for everyone and a great way to celebrate Tom and Jan!

Avery and Kendall had some ring pops and were pretending they were pacifiers, so Memaw held them like babies.

End of 1st Grade

Avery received 3 awards at the end of the year awards program.  Way to go Avery!
Rather than the regular end of the six weeks awards program that was always at 12:30 on Fridays, Avery's end of the year awards was on a Monday morning.  That meant Scott was able to go to the awards too this time, along with Kendall and Judson as well. Avery received the Shining Star Award for Perfect Attendance, the Golden Lasso Award for Straight A's all year ,and the Walk the Line Award for Outstanding Citizenship .  We are so incredibly proud of her accomplishments and all her hard work in first grade this year.  And we would have never expected that with her history of Reactive Airway Disease that she would not miss a single day of school all year!  What a blessing that she has outgrown that and is no longer on Singulair and doesn't need breathing treatments. She has grown and learned so much this year, and has adjusted wonderfully.  She has become a full-fledged Granger Wrangler!  The last few pictures are from Avery's end of the year party.  It was a breakfast party with donuts, muffins, fruit, etc and lots of silliness after all that sugar!  Just when I was thinking that the kids weren't being too hyper at all, they started getting crazy- ha! Happy end  of the school year Avery!
Here she is back in her classroom after the awards.  I think she was worried she or Judson might get in trouble when he ran right in and hugged her.

The pictures from the end of year party turned out a little blurry since I took them with my phone, but something is better than nothing I guess!

silly faces!

Judson Turns Two!

Judson the 2 yr old football player
I can't believe it, but Judson turned two at the end of May.  We had a Mickey Mouse clubhouse party for him at our house with family.  Mimi, Poppi, Memaw, Dedaw, Aunt Sheila, Uncle Doug, cousin Brooklyn, and great aunt and uncle Betty Sue and Roy were all able to come and help us celebrate.  While Scott grilled burgers and hot dogs for everybody, Judson and the girls played a few party games that we set up like Mickey and friends bowling, and a sandbox treasure hunt for little Mickey Mouse treasures.  Judson's favorite was probably the bowling.  But instead of rolling the ball toward the pins, he just liked to hold the ball and knock them all down by hitting them with it.  It was so "Judson"! After dinner he opened presents.  He received some sand toys, a hot wheels truck, a pack of hot wheels cars, a GeoTrax train set, wooden blocks, a hot wheels loop track, a tool box, and a Little Tykes basketball goal.  He loved all his presents and almost two months later, he is still playing with every one of them.  It was so fun to see him get excited about each present he opened.  After presents we sang "Happy Birthday" and had cake. We got him an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins this year since he LOVES ice cream and since they had a really cute Mickey cake.  He enjoyed hearing us all sing to him, and then let Avery and Kendall help him blow out his candles before digging in.  It was a fun party and I think he had a great time!  Happy 2nd birthday Judson!
He loves wearing his OU helmet.  He pulls it down like this and says, "I can't see very well right now."

Crash!
I made fruit kabobs and put them in these sand pails as part of the centerpiece. Cute and delicious is always a good combination!
ready to tear into those presents
I helped Kendall and Jud hunt for the Mickey mouse treasures hidden in the sandbox while Scott grilled.
Dinner!
Present time! I think this one was wooden blocks from Mimi and Poppi.
Avery and Kendall were ready to help him open his presents at a moment's notice.

Field Day!

Avery's first Field Day at Granger was a space/alien themed day with lots of water games and activities.  I was glad that Avery is hot-natured, because it was a chilly day for May and the kids were pretty soaked from all the games.  Judson and I went and watched for a while and I took a few pictures with my phone.  Not the best idea for all those action shots, but at least I did get some pictures for Avery to look back at one day.  The whole thing was extremely well-organized and the kids seemed to be having a great time.  I know Avery sure thought it was awesome!

One of the only games that didn't involve water.  This one was a relay where they had to put on a bunch of things.

Hugging her little brother.  These two adore each other!
