May is always a busy time of year, and this year has been no exception. Here are a few of the special things we had going on in May.
First of all, both of the girls had artwork that made it into the district art show, so we went to the administration building one evening to view their artwork. We were so proud of the great work they had done and it was neat to see all of the wonderful masterpieces the budding artists across the district had created!

| Kendall is standing directly under her sunflower. This was a mosaic of all the sunflowers that the kids in her class painted. It was neat to see how different and unique they all were. |

| Avery's piece was a portrait of us, her family. I love the bright colors and her attention to detail like the eye color, hair color, and even her freckles. |
We also celebrated Judson's birthday, along with several others, with our small group from church. We have birthday cake and the Dad's of the birthday kids for that month or months take turns giving their kids a blessing. It's very special and touching for the parents and kids alike. Unfortunately I did not get very good pictures of this, but oh well. I think the camera battery was about due for a charge.

| Listening to his blessing, but still focused on eating his last few crumbs of cake. |
 |
| The Dads all end up rubbing their kids shoulders and/or heads as they are talking. |
 |
| Smiley boy! |
Next was a family get-together at Tom and Jan's house when Scott's Uncle Jerry was in town for a visit. The whole family went to church with Tom and Jan at Alliance C of C and then went over to their house for lunch. I took just a few pictures of all the kids. And again, they are bad pictures, but this time I can blame it on my phone.

 |
| Judson has a way of bringing out the silly in everyone. |
 |
| At first the girls were all taking turns walking or running on the treadmill. Then they got creative and started sending toys down it like a conveyor belt and catching them in a basket. |
Last but not least was a special little event Avery had at school called "Poetry Cafe." The kids all got to pick a poem, memorize it, and come up with hand motions and props to go with it. Then when parents and other classes came by their desk, they would recite their poem and let the guests look at the poetry book they had created. Avery chose the poem, "Tree House" by Shel Silverstein. She made up the hand motions all by herself and Scott and I helped her make the window of her tree house for a prop. She has always been such a little performer and she did not disappoint with this project. Great job Avery!

| Avery stood behind her tree house window while she recited her poem. She wanted to wear her hair in pigtails so she would look more like a little kid. |
 |
| I don't know what this face was about, but I thought it was cute and funny so I decided to include it. |
